Shepherd's Hill Farm (SHF) is a co-ed therapeutic Christian program for troubled teens ages 13-17. This outdoor residential therapeutic program and school, located in Georgia, lends itself to an atmosphere conducive for learning and growing spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically.
At SHF, therapy is not something that is reserved for an office. Therapy is done everywhere and all the time. Thirty full and part time staff members are trained to look for “teachable moments” in every activity and in every situation. They use a variety of proven therapeutic strategies, straight from the bible, to challenge faulty thinking and encourage positive changes in students' behavior.
The program takes troubled youth out of their normal comfort zone and requires them to build their own living quarters in the woods. With no electricity, and with the help of counselors and peers, every student succeeds while learning coping skills and communal cooperation necessary for basic daily needs. These skills are designed to be transferable into their societal roles, as rights and privileges are reinstated to the degree that students fulfill their responsibilities and obligations.
Shepherd's Hill Academy is a fully accredited junior and senior high school by the Georgia Accrediting Commission. State certified teachers work with students each day in compliance with Georgia state law. Courses are offered based on requirements of the state of Georgia's Quality Core Curriculum.
The annual cost is $58,900. Medical expenses, insurance costs, co-payments, prescriptions and psychotherapy are not included. For financing info, call Parent Help at 844-622-6705 or continue on to Step 3, Get Financing.
